For me, this is personal. I know Lauren and did not know about her story until today. I'm so glad that she's been able to recover tremendously and represent Loyola with tremendous character and poise.

Listened to all of the second half and the Ramblers started with a 15-0 run to start the second half.
Second half starters were: Polka, Stanley, Avercamp, Hill and McCammon.
To me Hill and Avercamp really showed their stuff.

Listening to the LU game on the Robert Morris website, Loyola leads 36-30 at the half shooting 45%. LU 3 of 6 from 3 point land and 4 of 5 from the line.
Avercamp has 13, Thomas 8, Gibler 7, Hill 4, McCammon and Polka 2. Benkoskie, Stanley, Kindred and Van Weeldon played but did not score. So far, so good. Sounds up tempo but I am only listening and not watching.

If you think it's crazy that Loyola is playing a road game at SIU-Edwardsville, there are some other crazy games out there this year.

We've had BCC closed practice and the Kickoff Luncheon.
Andy Polka got another year of eligibility.
Fr. Garizini shared some of his plans and hopes for the future with upgraded facilities and a commitment to athletics.
Coach Whitesell professes to being committed to sticking with our young players.

Tonight @ 7pm another season begins. I must admit I am more hopeful than I was a month ago. Some of the new players at the practice excited me. I only hope the reason...

As I read the various threads by the Rambler faithful the Athletic Administration of both Detroit and Loyola have many similar tendancies... For about one thing that goes right they make one to two (or more) bonehead moves...

Our latest is the Detroit braintrust decided to give up on having the games on radio!?!?! Apparently radio is for old people they say... They did buy an extra TV game for the savings of not putting the games on the radio. We found it costs approx....

Kick off luncheon a DAY WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR

One of the speakers at the kick off luncheon was Father Garanzini. He had just left a press conference talking about the official groundbreaking of the new athletic center. He said this was phase one. Phase two included drawings of the revised Gentile Center. From the drawings it featured:

1. Chairback seats on all seats on both sides of the court.

2. Traditional bleachers behind each basket

3. A second level kind of like the All State arena where you go up...

Am I to presume the HL will NOT be putting our games on the web-site this year ?? No stream ??
Or is it not finalzed as yet ?? Anyone know ?? Thanks !!

The official AD site has now released an announcement confirming that Polka has been granted an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA.

As the Streak suggested, I will try to ask tomorrow how this affects recruiting this year.

WOW ! We are almost there--Mon is our exhibion game !! Am gettin' up for a surprisin' season--I have altered my opinion somewhat--We will be better that I first contemplated--A key ?? Well, when it was reported that we are FAST and we will then make some mistakes--That is what runnin' teams do--Make some t/os--BUT with good "D" we can and should overcome these--W has always had fairly good defense from his teams.
Combine that with up-tempo, and we will trick a few...

I see that the Bears are gonna have a tribute to Walter Peyton Sunday--Gosh ! What a player he was !! 2011 Loyola Recruit

I have heard that Wayne Tinkles Montana Grizzly basketball team is recruiting Phil Romback of Seymour high school in Wisconsin. Romback is a 6-6ish combo forward who has a nice combination of size and range.

Romback averaged 17.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting 61.1 percent from the floor his sophomore season and was named first team all Bay Conference, and enters the 2009-10 season ranked as the #6 prospect in the state by a couple Wisconsin...
